English term or phrase: fish meal

Dear all, translating pet food ingredients and typical analysis, I have translated "chicken meal" into "poulet déshydraté" and wonder if that should be the same with "fish meal", which I have so far translated into "farine de poisson", which does not seem that coherent!
Would someone working in this field have some opinion and explanation please? Thanks
P.S. this food is a natural food with high quality ingredients of humane grade consumption

Poisson deshydraté n'est pas forcement sous forme de poudre, farine.

Il semble que l'industrie alimentaire spécialisée dans la nourriture pour animaux terrestres ou aquatiques privilégie ce terme.
Quoi qu'il en soit, la farine de poisson est bien extraite de poisson deshydraté. Voir le lien sous la rubrique "Utilisation"

La déshydratation et la fabrication de farine de viandes et poissons sont des procédés spécifiques très probablement soumis à des normes. Je crois que "chicken meal" ou "fish meal" ne peut pas être traduit ni par un ni par l'autre. Ce serait un cas de fausse représentation ...

Je crois plutôt que moulée / pâtée seraient appropriés.

Asker: Merci Arnold mais là il s'agit de l'ingrédient et non de l'aliment final, aussi je crois que le terme de farine est le plus approprié, le plus précis (je voulais éviter la connotation négative née ces dernières années avec les fameuses "farines animales"...

Asker: Normalement, "meal" est une farine, mais je me demandais si déshydraté n'était pas mieux - or je me trompais puisqu'une viande déshydratée peut prendre plusieurs formes (dont le poisson déshydraté entier que l'on donne aux chiens comme friandises).

ce sont bien les deux ingrédients qui entrent dans la composition de croquettes. Le poisson déshydraté a une autre utilisation pour ces croquettes. Réf : 8 ans dans l'approvisionnement de ces ingrédients chez un fabricant renommé !

à mon avis, difficile de mettre poulet ou poisson déshydraté sans s'attirer les foudres de la Répression des Fraudes ! Les farines de poisson et de poulet répondent à certains critères précis et ne posent pas de problème. Comme il s'agit de l'analyse du produit, peut-on opter pour "sous-produits de poisson ou de poulet déshydraté en poudre " ? Une possibilité

Asker: Merci Marie-Christine, c'est vrai le seul problème c'est que le client refuse que l'on utilise le mot "farine", et donc nous en serions à "poulet/poisson déshydraté moulu"...
