|English term or phrase: drove my chevy to the levee|
J'ai conduit ma Chevrolet à la levée
This is a line from the song "Bye-Bye, Miss American Pie", a mega-hit from about 25 or 30 years ago. Don McLean, the singer-songwriter, put together a list of images from American pop culture (song titles, famous names, etc.) and made them into a song. Each verse ends with the line, "The day the music died". Some people think that the whole song was a mourning for JFK and the idealism and youthful energy that "died" when he was assassinated.
