See comments below... Explanation: David, I can't give you any concrete suggestions, but here are a few comments, for what little they're worth. I would perhaps avoid a negative word like 'obstacles', for 'fences', jumping which is meant to be fun! Likewise, I wonder if 'nager' is right for a dog, or whether 'baigner' is better? And equally 'étang', which sounds quite grand for pond ('mare'?) Overall, I think this is one case where it would be better to get rid of the expression in EN using verbs, and use nouns, as is so much more common in FR. That might (possibly!) free you a little from some of the current constraints...
