Contexte :
Rik Van Steenbergen was a man with a remarkable record, considering that he only saw wins on the road in relation to the number of lucrative appearance contracts they could win him on the track. He raced all winter on the velodromes, and came out in spring to use his track speed to snatch a major result or two which would mean morework in winter.
