In addition to Carole_A's answer... Explanation: I would like to point out that the English "used to" construction is rendered by the imperfect tense in French. - Quand j'avais 4 ans, je regardais les dessins animés. - A l'age de 4 ans, .... Carole_A made the slight and natural improvement in her version, in adding the verb "aimer". Sounds better, even though strictly speaking it translates back as "used to like watching....". |
