Like in the color of his skin, like in his love of the country; like in his high intelligence, openly evident, though, never hidden as Gold Sr's always was until he began to be sure that you took the same sort of pleasure in his roleplaying as he did.

Tel que compris, malgré la fin un peu floue... Il est évident qu'il ne s'agit pas d'acteurs ici. J'ai un doute quant au possessif "Sr's".

Voici mon interprétation du "petit joyau" de paragraphe :

Il avait hérité de lui la même teinte de peau, il partageait son patriotisme, sa grande et visible intelligence, même quand elle ne passait jamais inaperçue comme l'était toujours celle de Gold Sr, jusqu'au moment où celui-ci s'apercevait qu'on appréciait son astuce* autant que lui...

*son astuce/son artifice/son petit manège. Gold Sr faisait **semblant** de n'être pas intelligent. Il dissimulait son intelligence **hidden as Gold Sr's**

P.S. J'ai fait de mon mieux malgré le manque de clarté du dernier membre de phrase commençant avec "as Gold Sr's........."

merci beaucoup. Oui, j'ai fait une coquille en oubliant le 's et ce n'est pas Gold mais Simon Sr's. Je m'excuse pour une base si instable. Voici ce que j'ai produit: "Simon Jr était un homme à la fois très dissemblable et très comparable à son père. Comme la couleur de sa peau, comme son amour pour sa patrie; son immense intelligence si perceptible, jamais comme celle de Simon Sr qui restait en sous-main jusqu’au moment où il se rendait compte que vous partagiez de tout cœur avec lui son artifice." J'ai pris "artifice". En tout cas, bravo et merci
