French translation:calamus (or calamus javenis) or rotin (which is not as specific)
Explanation:
Pulut is a category of rattan from which they make baskets or furniture. Here is a quote, taken from the site below: "According to the Provincial Office of the Department of Industry and Commerce there are 137 rattan species in East Kalimantan and from these only 11 commercial types are widely traded (Nasution, 1998). The 11 species are Calamus manan (Manau), C. scipionum (Semambu), C. snaps (Tohiti), C. trachycoleus (Jahab), C. javenis (pulut), C. caerasius (Sega), Jelayan, C. optimus (Sele-tup), Sabutan, Daemonorops sparsiflora (Kotok) and Botet. However, a larger num-ber of uncommercial rattan species is widely used by the interior Dayak people for many traditional purposes. " (http://www.csf.or.id/rattan.html)

In French, we seem to use the latin term "calamus", or palmier a rotin (rattan in English) For example: "Les rotins sont des palmiers lianescents principalement représentés en Asie du Sud-Est (genre calamus et autres). (http://www.inprofurniture.com/francais/quel_est_rotin.htm)

Hope this helps.

collant (adj.)

Explanation:

http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~durian/rec/pulut-e.htm

http://www.kashrus.org/recipes/singapore/pul.html

Hope this helps though.
