English to French translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature
English term or phrase:Potboilers
Struggling to find something in French that fits well with the rest of the text. It's literary/journalistic, with a lot of tongue-in-cheek humour. TA is similar to that of The Guardian, ST written by Charlie Brooker.
Here's the complete sentence:

Ce que j'ai lu sur Brooker le décrivait comme insolent et je m'attendais un peu à la version british d'un Foglia. Ce n'est pas ça, mais il donne certes beaucoup de couleur à ses images. À mettre dans les favoris.
"truculent" parce qu'il sonne comme un superlatif de succulent alors qu'on est loin de la marmite! Cela dit, je m'étonne que les suggestions aillent sur la "chose" (roman/feuille de chou) alors que la phrase s'adresse visiblement (à mon avis) à son cuistot. À moins que je me méprenne encore sur le sens de "for..." (à l'intention de... ou comme les...?)

En suivant la pensée de Germaine, je vois bien des mots comme hoche-pot (qui est une sorte de ragoût, mais qui est très parlant). Tambouilleur (qui fait écho à barbouilleur) ... serait certainement trop olé olé, mais me fait sourire.
