English to French translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature / schoolbook | | English term or phrase: hog the snow | I would like to know what the expression "hog the snow" means.
I have it in a short paragraph in an activity book for children around 10 years old.
The paragraph is about a pig pet and ends up with the sentence:
"She is a funny pig who really likes to hog the snow."
I can see there is a play on words, but I have no idea what the expression means in the first place. |

Explanation:
To hog means to monopolize something for yourself ("Accaparer"in French). I'm not sure about your context, but does the character stop others from playing in the snow by taking it all for herself? I'm not sure how you can replicate the pun (hog = pig/ monopolize) other than by saying "elle n'en laisse pas beaucoup pour les autres".
