the man had been dried up with discoloured teeth, nice enough, but hardly a sex object

J'ai un petit souci avec "nice enough" que je trouve plutôt positif en soi sauf que le reste de la description n'est pas très positif... Bref, c'est pas franchement un beau gosse !

C'est justement le seul qualificatif positif, et vu qu'il est intercalé entre deux segments de phrase à connotation négative, je proposerais une phrase construite différemment, en mettant le qualificatif positif en premier, puis regroupant les deux qualificatifs négatifs : L'homme était plutôt d'allure acceptable, mais pas un sex-symbol, surtout avec ses dents décolorées... Mais il faudrait également voir si ça colle au contexte.
