Une proposition (parmi d'autres....)
"Ses yeux brillaient de colère derrière ses lunettes."
*Exorbité* serait sûrement plus proche de *tense* mais je trouve le terme peu élégant et moins facile à tourner (surtout avec des lunettes): *les yeux exorbités de colère derrière les lunettes / sous les lunettes* ? Il me semble que c'est lourd.
Ou alors on oublie les yeux et on passe carrément aux sourcils qui froncent, et on s'éloigne autant qu'avec "briller".
