Explanation:
En anglais, trapping (en fr "recouvrement", comme précisé par ailleurs) se dit également "spread and choke". Ce qui se traduit en fr. par grossi-maigri. Voir l'entrée spread and choke du GDT. On peut soit étendre une couleur vers l'autre (grossi), soit l'en retirer (maigri). Ou les deux.

En toute logique, "grip" devrait désigner le "grossi".

Cela dit, recouvrement et grossi-maigri étant synonymes, il n'est peut être pas indispensable de traduire littéralement les trois termes.
