Au Canada, on dit plutôt "travailleur" qu'assistante - Cf. association et ordre professionnels

Au Québec, l'abréviation "t.s." est largement employée, ce qui te simplifierait la vie sur le choix du féminin ou du masculin.

Toutefois, si d'après le contexte, il ne s'agit pas d'un professionnel en travail social, on parlerait alors d'un-e "auxiliaire familial-e": personne qui aide à l'entretien ménager ou à la bouffe, etc.
