The idea is to experience the event the way one would experience a play or other communal event -- presumably this is for newcomers or people who haven't been to an event (service?) like this before. The original language isn't great.

Let me see if I can paraphrase what I think it's saying. "That's part of what is so moving to come to an event like this and [to see for a while {{the editor in me says this is unnecessary}}] _take part_ in where we are worshipping..."

"Experience" as in "to be a part of" rather than "to experiment with".

But that's just my interpretation. Experimenter isn't entirely incorrect either, in a broader sense of trying out new things.

As an aside, I wouldn't trans "experience" into "experimenter" -- it's not an experiment so much as an emotional event. "Eprouver" might work, though I'm not liking it right now. Hopefully you see what I mean though :)

My guess is that this is a typo in the original text. The "look" shouldn't be there -- the original sentence may have been "...so moving to look at an event like this" and was changed to "...so moving to come to an event like this" and "look" wasn't deleted.

There's no way it makes sense as is.
