produits secondaires de faible poids moleculaire, de bas poids moleculaire Explanation: What does not sound right is the literal nature of the translation attempt. "small" should be translated as "de petite taille", as in "sous-produits de petite taille", and more scientifically, "de faible poids moleculaire" as opposed to the molecular weight of larger polymers. Instead of "faible", I have seen "bas" too (low molecular weight). Depending on the context given by other portions of your document, "derives" or "residus" may be used (i.e. if these terms are not used to spceifically designate something else such as derivatized polymers). However, I believe that the real meaning is that you get a primary product which is the polymer, and some other "stuff" that are secondary products. Therefore "produits secondaires" might be most appropriate. Good luck, Reference: http://www.med.univ-rennes1.fr/~denier/bon_usage/bon_usage_8...
