Explanation:
"Indexateur de wagon : appareil servant à faire avancer
les wagons dans le culbuteur rotatif. L’indexateur est muni
d’un bras et d’une tête qui se fixent aux attelages des
wagons. À l’aide d’un moteur électromécanique sur rails,
il déplace un train-bloc entier, faisant avancer un ou deux
wagons à la fois dans le culbuteur rotatif en vue de les
décharger.
Culbuteur de wagons rotatif : mécanisme servant au
déchargement de certains wagons comme les wagons-
trémies ou les wagons-tombereaux. Il maintient le wagon
dans une section de la voie et fait pivoter la voie et le
wagon simultanément afin d’en vider le contenu. Un train-
bloc entier de charbon peut être déchargé sans dételer les
wagons. Les wagons utilisés pour ces trains sont munis
d’attelages rotatifs « tightlock » à une extrémité, que l’on
identifie à l’aide d’une bande colorée, habituellement
blanche, rouge ou jaune. "
