| English term or phrase: has no time for | Revans has said of Action Learning that it was designed “to help each manager observe more keenly his present condition, by obliging him to list (for his colleagues) his goals, the obstructions that bar those goals, and the means by which he intends to remove those obstructions.”
Action Learning is based on his view that behavioral change is more likely to follow the reinterpretation of past experience than from the acquisition of fresh knowledge. It is also based on an understanding of learning as a social process; learners are helped to learn from each other.
Revans has no time for traditional management education or educators. In his approach, the role of teachers is to contrive conditions in which leaders can learn with and from each other. Action Learning tackles real problems, in real time, in the real world; the problems are defined as a project, and the learners collect the data necessary to help them and others resolve the problems. |
