Figurant dans un tableau concernant des rencontres sportives, ces deux entrées différentes : "team size" et "squad size". Quelle est la différence entre "team" et "squad" et surtout, cette différence peut-elle exister dans le domaine sportif français ?

Explanation:
en terme de sports, on parle généralement d'une « sélection » d'athlètes qui peuvent éventuellement former une équipe. Il me semble que c'est le terme officiel

team=équipe c'est facile
pour squad, je me demande si on ne parle ici d'une ligue, même si la traduction typique serait escouade ou escadron
ça peut inspirer quelqu'un

Explanation:
What I understand it to mean is the squad is the pool of players from which the actual team is chosen - so it will generally be a bigger group than the statutory number of players for the team.

There my be a better way to say it in French but "taille du groupe" would cover it if there isn't.
