Drawing from Aerospace dictionaries (Gauthier-Villars and Goursau), and to make a difference you can translate as above. An O'ring is surely a "joint torique" (round) and a gasket can be a "joint rigide", "joint métallo-plastique", "joint plat" (like the famous "joint de culasse" in cars), a "garniture de joint", a "rondelle joint", a "membrane". A seal is a "joint d'étanchéité" (which they all are). HTH |
