Does lacing here mean formation of filaments?

I guess in the context of extrusion the extruded wires could unexpectedly get melt together, in which case "toronage" could fit, or perhaps simply "adhésion".
Less probable but perhaps possible: when exiting the dye,the colored plastic could have stripes of different coulurs, which could suggest the appearance of lacing wires
I found no occurrences on the Internet, but I guess you have already looked with the usual tools.
