The standard method is to engage a master synchro ring onto the part to replicate the relationship of the assembled gearbox. The master synchro ring is mounted to precision spin table assembly, and on dynamic inspection of the part, the runout of master ring is monitored to determine the runout in respect to the part datum bore.(This is to do with gauging automotive parts).
