Je ne vois pas exactement le but de la manoeuvre, mais littéralement il n'y a pas d'autre manière de comprendre :

S'il est nécessaire de démonter le mandrin, c'est que le foret standard de 13 mm est trop long ou entraîne un autre problème (trop grans diamètre de l'extrémité du mandrin avec le foret ?).
En l'insérant par l'arrière du mandrin démonté on résoud probablement ce problème, étant entendu que le tout doit tout de même être présenté à l'affûteur pointe du foret en avant, sinon cela n'a pas de sens (si j'ose dire).
