English term or phrase: registered DIMM (memory module)
The word "registered" is used as an adjective describing a type of memory component, and seems to convey an idea of higher quality or performance, as opposed to a more regular type.

French translation:DIMM tamponné
Explanation:
According to the meaning of "registered DIMM" (see my previous message), I have found a site (see URL below) in which "DIMM non tamponnées" are mentioned. Therefore, I think you can translate it as "DIMM tamponné".
DIMM = Dual Inline Memory Module. Check is it's singular or plural in your sentence.

Thank you for your answer which is indeed 100% correct. After having investigated the matter further on my own, I have found that these DIMM modules do include a couple of register ICs (used as buffers) (and a PLL IC as well) in addition to the SRAM/DRAM ICs, which is why they are called "registered". I have chosen to used "module DIMM à registres" in this case (to convey the original concept fully), but "tamponné" (which is to say "buffered") would have been quite accurate as well. You were the first (and only) translator to provide me with a correct answer, and your answer has helped me by confirming what I was not sure about. Thank you.

Module mémoire "homologué" or "enregistré"

Explanation:
"homologué" means "officially approved" (e.g. for some specific application)
"enregistré" means "recorded" (e.g. recognized by a computer)
Both terms are ITU approved for "registered". Usage depends on context.

Explanation:
Here's the meaning of "registered DIMM":
"Registered means the module has a type of buffering. This allows more modules to run stably in a system. To use registered dimm, your mainboard must support registration and you can not mix registered and non registered memory."

module de mémoire à double rangée de connexions

Explanation:
D'après Termium, dans le domaine informatique, il semble qu'il s'agisse d'un sigle qu'on ne traduit pas, vu qu'on propose aussi l'expression «module DIMM» qui a l'avantage d'être courte et claire, en tous cas pour les spécialistes.
