corne Explanation: Les multiplicateurs d'électrons à dynode continue sont constitués d'une sorte d'entonnoir en quartz ayant la forme d'une corne de vache (d'où le nom de cette pièce en Anglais comme en français) et dont la paroi interne est recouverte d'un oxyde de plomb capable d'émettre plusieurs électrons lorsqu'il est frappé avec ue énergie suffisante par une particule (autre électron, ion). Un gradient de potentiel entre la partie ouverte et le collecteur est établi par une ddp de 1 à 2 KV, qui attire les électrons vers le collecteur et crée le phénomène d'amplification.
