French translation: ville de la Marche [de Brandebourg]

English term or phrase: Mark town
Il s'agit de la description d'un hôtel en anglais, lui-même sans doute traduit de l'allemand. L'hôtel se trouve à Fürstenwalde en Allemagne, près de Berlin.
Je cherche ce que peut vouloir signifier "This vibrant *Mark town* provides various recreationnal possibilities".
S'agit-il de "market town" ? d'une ville de renom ? Peut-être une traduction approximative d'un terme allemand comme Markt ?

Merci infiniment Françoise car vous m'avez mise sur la bonne voie. Le mot que je cherchais est en fait "margraviale". J'ai retrouvé le terme de "Mark Quarter" dans un descriptif relatif à Berlin. Il s'agissait en fait d'une traduction en anglais (?) de Märkisches Viertel, le quartier margrave, du nom de l'ancien état du Brandebourg: la Marche ou Margraviat. C'est grâce à vous que j'ai fini par faire la relation. Un coup de main très efficace !

Explanation:
If this is, as you say, a translation from the German and Am Mark is the name of a market place, then it must be market not mark. "Southeast of Berlin is the town Lübben, a somewhat large town within the center of the Spreewald. It has a historical church, some remainders of medieval fortifications, and several sundials. One of these sundials is located on a (former) central market place called "Am Mark". See reference below.
