neutral  Tony M: I have severe doubts that these particular types of "housings" would conform to this dictionary definition / Yes, of course; though it's impossible to be sure without more context, it is unlikely, given the usual meaning in an electrical context

  -> Tony, since we are talking about electricity, I hope "boîtiers" will do. You know, my Dictionnary gives various definitions in several fields. You only have to choose the most appropriate according to the context. Thanks for your contribution

Explanation:
It's hard to be 100% sure because of the unclear context, but this is what I would expect to find. It is not usually an enclosure around the contacts, but rather, a "body" (plastic etc.) that has spaces where the contacts can be inserted.

The bi-lingual reference below (for once, it looks like a reasonable translation from this site!) uses it in exactly this context:
