| English term or phrase: deliver policy requirements | The STREETWISE project extends ITS capabilities across the TERN to include England (except the South-East which is covered in CENTRICO), Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Specifically focussing on areas where most of the road traffic bottlenecks occur, the projects in the programme aim to support three main objectives:
-optimising the use of road capacity;
-making savings in terms of road safety, due to reduced accidents and reduced impacts of accidents; and
-alleviating environmental damage through reducing traffic congestion.
The STREETWISE strategy relies on projects that help to deliver policy requirements and that provide specific improvements to the TERN. |
