Art/Literary - Folklore | | English term or phrase: Did not fit see explanation | I was hoping someone would be able to help me with a SCOTTISH-GAELIC translation of St Barton's Ode, which reads:
"I am wounded, but I am not slain. I will lie me down and bleed awhile, then I will rise and fight again."
It was supposedly said by Sir Andrew Barton, a Scottish privateer from the early 1500's who was captured by the English and beheaded.
In any case, I know some Scottish Gaelic phrasing, and I could find all these words easily enough, but I don't have enough of a grasp on grammar etc to put this together in an actual flowing sentence. I would really appreciate some help on this. Thanks in advance!
p.s. It would be great to have it in older, more formal wording, but anything is better than what I have now! |
