The LMIF argues that the only lawful purpose of endowments is income generation for higher educational and educational-research purposes (par. 1.1, 1.3).
On the contrary, Georgian Civil code (par. 528(1)) stipulating that charitable donations may pursue both public benefits and/or private purposes. Moreover, Georgian Tax code (art. 14) recognizes public benefit or charitable activities in education as well as in ten more areas (e.g., culture, science and health care). |
