We discussed the question before. These are "Wertminderungen" as long as there are corresponding balance sheet items with a positive value (and there always should be one for Schwund and Überalterung).
The amount gets deducted from the inventory amount (debit expenses credit shrink or obsolescence or just inventories). If recorded as an extra account shrink and obsolescence are inventory accounts with a negative balance. |

Explanation:
Schrink(age) also refers pilfering by employees not just shop lifting. There might be a newer term for it.
