English term or phrase: contingent on the derivation of revenue
Context (IAS 18, Revenue):

16. If the enterprise retains significant risks of ownership, the transaction is not a sale and revenue is not recognised. An enterprise may retain a significant risk of ownership in a number of ways. Examples of situations in which the enterprise may retain the significant risks and rewards of ownership are:
(a) when the enterprise retains an obligation for unsatisfactory performance not covered by normal warranty provisions;
(b) when the receipt of the revenue from a particular sale is ***contingent on the derivation of revenue*** by the buyer from its sale of the goods;
(c) when the goods are shipped subject to installation and the installation is a significant part of the contract which has not yet been completed by the enterprise; and
(d) when the buyer has the right to rescind the purchase for a reason specified in the sales contract and the enterprise is uncertain about the probability of return.

My question is how this expression (or the whole of point (b)) was translated into German. (German is a very exact language and could be helpful in my deciding the correct translation of this expression into Hungarian.)

The discussed issue is whether or not "derivation" simply refers to the fact
- that there may be no revenue at all (if the buyer acts as an intermediary and has the right to return the unsold goods) AND the amount of the revenue depends on the sales performance of the buyer
or
- that the amount realised from the sale will depend on the kind of customers the buyer of the reporting enterprise can find.

Ralf, are you around?

Explanation:

You could reformulate your passage as

*contingent upon the receipt of revenue* by the buyer.

In other words, if the buyer receives no revenue (i.e. does not or cannot sell the goods), then the contingency is is not fulfilled -- the precondition is not met -- and \"revenue from a particular sale\" will not be received/obtained.

Thanks a lot, that's just perfect! (This is how it makes sense.)
