I thought about Rechenschaftspflicht für Vermögenswerte or maybe Verantwortlichkeit für Vermögenswerte.... I cannot find any specific translation in either my references (Woywode, Schäfer, Beck) nor LEO. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Überblick über die Aktiva/Vermögenswerte
Explanation:
Es geht nicht so sehr um eine Verpflichtung, sondern eher darum, die Aktiva so in die Buchführung mit einzubeziehen, dass über die Entwicklung der Aktiva regelmässig berichtet werden kann und bei Differenzen evtl. notwendige Entscheidungen getroffen werden können.

Dass das keine verbindliche Verpflichtung, sondern eine Strategie ist, geht aus dem Bezug auf die GAAPs hervor. Die IAS ist im EU-Bereich erst ab 2005 verpflichtend.
