English term or phrase: heirloom
Genuine Full Carat *Heirloom* Ruby Pendant

Was wäre hier eine schicke Übersetzung?

agree  pjau: perhaps also: herkömmlich

agree  Teresa Reinhardt: I think it is a fancy way of saying "old" (and not old enough to be an antique)
2 hrs

agree  Heike Reagan: In US English, it always seems to me that "heirloom" is used to mean "traditional looking" or something like that.
4 hrs

agree  BrigitteHilgner: With Heike. And I would definitely not call it "herkömmlich", that is inappropriate for jewellery.

heirloom (here)
Luxus, wertvoll

Explanation:
Das Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary (s. link) definiert heirloom u.a. als: "something of special value handed on from one generation to another". Laesst man den 2.Teil weg, bleibt "something of special value" uebrig, was hier wohl gemeint ist.
