English term or phrase: cut corners

"cut corners" habe ich schon mal angefragt. Damals ergab sich eine Kontroverse: "Am falschen Ende sparen" gegen "es mit der Wahrheit nicht ganz so genau nehmen".
Es blieb offen, was wirklich gemeint war.

Heute begegne ich dem Ausdruck in anderem Zusammenhang wieder. In der Selbstdarstellung eines Unternehmens zum Thema Preise heißt es:
"Our purchasing agents are some of the most experienced in the industry and they always negotiate with our suppliers in order to obtain the lowest possible prices. We pass these savings on to you, our customers, in order to provide you with the best prices in the business. We mean it when we say, ***"We cut prices, not corners!"***.
Laut Google ist das ein ziemlich häufig verwendeter Ausdruck.
Ich verstehe das so: "Wir senken die Preise, nicht die Qualität."
Kann das jemand bestätigen oder korrigieren?

Explanation:
Auf jeden Fall liegst du richtig mit der Interpretation von "cut corners" in diesem Zusammenhang. Das Ganze ist ein griffiger Slogan, ich finde es oft im aktuellen Sprachgebrauch in den USA z.B.

Mein Vorschlag lautet "Wir sparen am Preis, nicht an der Qualität."
