English to German translations [PRO] Marketing - Advertising / Public Relations / jewelry
English term or phrase:evolving
a recurring adjective that should work with "emotions", "ambitions", "character" (but it also refers to something physical, because it's about a jewel that can "evolve" into a different jewel, it can be reduced or lengthened at will).
Explanation: A rather difficult word to translate into German, as it is multifaceted in English. Clearly grounded in the idea of evolution we don't have an equivalent in German. I might go with "entfalten"... as it has the slight suggestion of the change a butterfly would undergo and hence might work for especially jewelry and feminine ideas.
Context: a picture with a ring that can turn into a bracelet.
Slogan: "evolving emotions."
This jewel is not just a ring, it's more than that. It evolves into a different jewel. Actually, I said it right away: it's a slogan. I explained what it is for. I didn't mean to make anyone angry!
You're so right... but what can I do?? It also entails references to Futurism... go figure! What I am afraid of is that, trying to convey the copywriter's idea, German women will not understand a thing!
I already gave the context: "evolving emotions" for instance
Silvia, if translating were that easy, we would all be out of work ;-)
One translation with so many different combinations, leave alone the prepositions ...

verwandeln
Explanation: Wie die Kollegen schon sagen, ist es sehr schwierig, da ohne den Ausgangstext mehr zu sagen, aber eventuell könnte das auch passen (z. B. "Der Schmuck, der sich verwandelt!" etc. bla bla). Adjektiv fällt mir aber auch keins ein, vermutlich wird das auch schwierig, weil die naheliegenden Verben alle reflexiv sind...

If you put a sentence for each instance of 'evolving' plus a different substantive we might get a better idea.

Die Wandlung vom Ring zum Armreif symbolisiert die Entfaltung weiblicher Emotionen / Ambitionen / des weiblichen Characters... something like that?
