Hallo liebe KollegInnen,
ich bräuchte Hilfe bezüglich des o.g. Begriffs. A cameo set in pearl - könnte man hier einfach "ein in Perlen gefasster Ring" schreiben? Sicherlich handelt es sich doch um einen besonderen Ring, aber wie könnte man diesen dann so kurz wie möglich beschreiben?? Vielen Dank für jede Hilfe!

Ich muss Brigitte widersprechen: Gemme ist i.w.S, der Oberbegriff fr vertieft und erhaben geschnittene Steine (Intaglios und Kameen). Die schnsten Gemmen der Antike (zB Gemma Augustea) sind Kameen. (Ich war fast 8 Jahre Finanzdirektor von Cartier Dtld.)
Ich muss Edith widersprechen: eine Gemme ist keine Kamee! Bei der Gemme ist die Darstellung vertieft, bei der Kamee erhaben. Jemand, der sich ein bichen mit Schmuck auskennt, trifft diese Unterscheidung.
Eine Kamee ist ein geschnittener Schmuckstein mit erhabener Darstellung, hufig verwendet man dazu (zweifarbigen) Achat, also einen Halbedelstein. Die Betonung liegt auf der Art der Verarbeitung, nicht dem Material.
