This is from the workplan for a dancing project. The author is not an English native speaker. I don't understand the meaning of "inform" in this sentence.

Explanation:
Ich denke, der Autor will sagen, dass im Zuge der Choreografie auch am "Bühnenbild" (Design) gearbeitet wird, obwohl dieses klar hinter der Choreografie zurücktritt, aber dieses Design leistet eben seinen Beitrag dazu, den Raum auszufüllen, zu beleben, zu beseelen.
