English term or phrase: French back

*French back*: A clamp like earring back for non-pierced ears. Also known as vice back. It is sometimes mistakenly referred to as a screw back.

Der Begriff stammt ebenfalls aus einem Glossar für Schmuckbegriffe. Das deutsche Äquivalent für "French back" und "Vice back" konnte ich nirgends finden. Ich hoffe innigst, dass ein Goldschmied unter euch ist! :-)

Hmm, stimmt, das passt nicht so recht. Aber was ist dann "French screwback"? Und diese Bilder weisen auch auf Schraubverschlüsse hin:

Ansonsten finde ich einige Bilder, die nicht zu der Beschreibung "for non-pierced ears" passen wollen...
