German translation: den (künstlerischen) Nachlaß verwalten

English term or phrase:to represent an estate
The context is about a gallery owner who represents the work of an artist, who has died.
I wonder whether it is right to say: "Nachlass verwalten" in German or whether there might be a more fitting term.
Perhaps "vertreten"?
estate würde ich hier als Nachlasswerk übersetzen. Dann kannst du schreiben: x übernimmt die Repräsentation des Nachlasswerks, was bei einer Galerie Sinn macht. M.m nach kann man einen Nachlass (der ja ganz verschiedenes umfassen kann) nicht vertreten, sondern nur verwalten und es ist unklar ob das hier wirklich der Fall ist.
The english is a bit misleading too really - estate is a very big general word, which is why I agree with Sarah's suggestion of adding kuenstlerisch. I'm not German so cant really help with the verbs but verwalten sounds more natural to me! Like you said, represents the artist, manages the estate...dont think it changes the meaning really either, the message seems accurate enough with verwalten. But I'll leave that to the natives!

Leider gibt der Kontext nicht viel mehr her... hier ist nochmal der besagte Satz (ohne Namen):
"The gallery" also represents the estate of "the artist", whose radical assemblage is gaining fresh acclaim.
Mein Vorschlag wäre:
Die Galerie vertritt ebenso den Nachlass von ..., dessen radikale Assemblagen neue Zustimmung erfahren.
Andere Vorschläge? Insbesondere für das Verb "represents"? Künstler werden von Galerien vertreten, aber deren Nachlass?

It's more about representing/selling the work than making it known to the public, I believe. What I am searching for is actually mainly the right German verb...
If the gallery owner has made it his mission to present some sort of intellectual or artistic legacy of this artist to a wider public, the word "Vermächtnis" could be useful. But as Bernd says, we really have nothing to go on - with the minimal context we have, Nachlass could be just as appropriate.

Asker: Thank you very much for your suggestions and reference. I think I would leave the word artistic out, as the whole text is about art, but good idea anyway. Your reference has helped me make up my mind about the verb though. I do believe "verwalten" is better than "vertreten", even though the English term would be "adminstering an estate".
