See below Explanation: It's a biblical quotation (Ecclesiasticus): "Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days (Eccles. xi. 1). When the Nile overflows its banks the weeds perish and the soil is disintegrated. The rice-seed being cast into the water takes root, and is found in due time growing in healthful vigour." laß dein Brot über das Wasser fahren... Explanation: Laß dein Brot über das Wasser fahren, so wirst du es finden nach langer Zeit. Prediger 11.1 Although I am not as "bibelfest" as sirius, the biblical reference was obvious at first glance. I do have German bible, and that's the translation. |
