I found the folling in a German site:

' Produkt auswählen, Produkt empfehlen, Prämie kassieren. ... Du empfiehlst dieses Produkt an Freunde, Bekannte, etc. weiter ...'

In your context it seems like hidden advertising to me, e.g. this person is part of a programme about cars and would have the opportunity to recommend certain brands of car-polish or motor-oil, etc.
