i don't think there is a 100% translation, but in Germany, tops like these are described and called "knappe shirts, knappe Oberteile".

although Langenscheidt and Oxford Duden translate it at Pullunder, I would use Tank Top in this context.

The are hundreds of German google sites, also for Tank-Top and Tanktop, predominantly Tank Top, eg.
