Es geht um die vershiedenen Beschichtungsmöglichkeiten: "... coating treatment by polishing or ***barrel stone machining***"
Kann das auch "trommelpolieren" bedeuten???? Ich bring die drei Wörter irgendwie nicht unter einen Hut

you're right; see also LEO trommelpolieren=barrel finishing; it's performed by putting the parts (I know it of aluminium (die-)cast parts) in a barrel together with (artificial) stones and fluid/water and rotating the lot; it smoothens the surface and gives it a semi-matte finish
