Explanation:
Zweige wären twigs, branches, normalerweise schon älter und braun
Stengel ist ok, aber vom Gefühl her würde ich Stiele sagen, da es sich ja um den Weiterwuchs junger, grüner, Wurzeltriebe (Schößlinge) zu handeln scheint.
Vielleicht kann man in diesem Falle auch Triebe sagen?!
