If the sentence doesn't describe the software interfacing with each other (context?), but rather connecting to the outside world, it would be "...haben nur begrenzte Schnittstellen". That interpretation ain't likely, though.

Explanation:
"interfaced" need not mean that they are connected by hardware (Schnittstelle). Rather, I tend to think that a limited software connection between the modules or applications is meant. That would best be translated as above, making it clear that it is a software interface.
