geschaeftsfuehrender Direktor Explanation: It is best to leave Management-Board, see the comments in Schaefer below: board of directors (com) Board of Directors m (ie, the governing body of a corporation; may be composed of an ,inside` group – handling day-to-day operations – and an outside` group; often called ,the board`; stop trying to translate the term into German; er ist Leitungs- und zugleich Kontrollorgan) Schaefer has the following entry for managing director (Bw, GB) Vorsitzender m des Vorstandsgremiums (syn, US, chief executive officer) Schueler has geschaeftsfuerender Direktor, which is the term I prefer. Geschäftsführer(in) Explanation: Ganz einfach nur "Geschäftsführer"! Vielleicht könnte in Ihrem Fall auch "Geschäftsbereichsleiter" passen. Wäre mir persönlich aber zu lang. "Finanzvorstand", "Verkaufsvorstand", "Vertriebsvorstand", "Produktionsvorstand", etc, Explanation: Your company is a British company or a company in a country strongly influences by British English (Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, as contrasted to North American English. Your suggestions above are quite OK, no changes are required. The "Managing Directors" you mention are also sometimes just referred to as "Directors" in the UK. The translation is "......Vorstand", for example "Finanzvorstand", "Verkaufsvorstand", "Vertriebsvorstand", and "Produktionsvorstand", etc, as translated by Hamblock/Wessels and shown at these reference URLs http://www.berlinonline.de/wissen/berliner_zeitung/archiv/19... http://www.boerseninfos.de/ak/mk/news/519000-20001005-115019... - HTH - Dan |
