Zu Horsts \"disagree\": \"lead time\" kann *sowohl* Anlauf- bzw. Entwicklungszeit *als auch* die Periode zwischen Bestell- und Lieferzeitpunkt bezeichnen. Hier bin ich aber der Auffassung, dass eher auf die Produktentwicklungszeit (auch Vorlaufzeit -> korrekt, Alexander!) abgestellt wird (durch neue Arbeitsmethoden/Verfahrensweisen wurde eine Verkürzung dieser Periode erreicht).

Beide o.g. Bedeutungen werden auch im Großen Eichborn angegeben.

disagree  Horst2: lead time kann vieles heissen. Lieferzeiten ist der allgemeinere Begriff. Speziell Entwicklungszeit ist als "time to market" bezeichnet oder project time aber niemals als lead time
