English term or phrase: post office order
Hi, everyone,

I'm translating a list of phrases. There is no context other than this sentence:

"Please send the documents per post office order."

I've never heard of the term "post office order".

There are Google hits, but I can't find a definition. Is it the same as a "money order"?

Any help would be appreciated.

Einschreiben wäre allerdings 'registered mail' und Postversand 'mail order'. Vielleicht wurde das etwas 'unglücklich' ausgedrückt, aber würde beides Sinn ergeben.

Es gibt auch "postal order" = Postanweisung - vielleicht sollte das gemeint sein?

Wobei das bei Dokumenten eigentlich keinen Sinn macht. Die würde man eher "postlagernd" senden.

Eine weitere Interpretationsmögilchkeit wäre, dass die Dokumente per Einschreiben verschickt werden.

Asker: Hi Annette, danke für die Antwort. ja, das war auch mein Gedanke. "Postanweisung" macht im Zusammenhang mit Dokumenten keinen Sinn. Und ich kenne "Postanweisung" auch nur als "postal order" oder "money order"...
