Anmerkung: aus meiner beruflichen Erfahrung weiß ich, das ANSI auch eine Akkreditierungsbehörde ist, bei der Prüflabors und Prüfinstitute (z.B. amerikanische: UL, ETL, FM, z.B. europäische: VDE, TÜV) akkreditiert werden müssen, wenn sie entsprechende Prüfungen für USA durchführen wollen.

In einem Vertrag, einem Lehrbuch usw. zunächst die Organisation beim ersten Erscheinen im Text einführen mit:
Abkürzung (im Original), Bezeichnung (im Original), dann eigene Erläuterung, dann "im folgenden als XXXX bezeichnet", und in der Folge im ganzen Vertrag, im Kapitel des Lehrbuchs nur noch die Abkürzung.
Äquivalente kann man nicht benennen - ASTM ist eben nicht DIN - da Parallelen zu ziehen ist überwiegend nicht richtig.
