bei der Übersetzung einer Marriage Lisence bin ich auf eine Abkürzung gestoßen, die ich nicht weiß:

Mother´s Full Name (Including Maiden): Vorname (NMN) Nachname

diese Abkürzung steht auch hinter dem Vornamen des Vaters; was heißt das? Wer hat eine Idee??? Danke!

Explanation:
Wie schon die anderen richtig bemerkt haben, steht NMN für "no middle name". Dafür gibt es meines Wissens keine deutsche Entsprechung, da zweite Vornamen im deutschen Sprachraum inzwischen zwar wieder im Vormarsch sind, dies aber nicht immer der Fall war. Kann meiner Meinung nach also weggelassen werden.

Muss mich da verbessern: Sehe gerade Haralds Zusatz, dass "nur Vorname" möglich wäre. Die Frage, ob dies weggelassen werden kann, stellt sich trotzdem noch.

falls es sich um eine amerikanische Urkunde handelt, könnte mit middle name auch ein Zwischennamen gemeint sein, wie z.B. bei George *Walker* Bush
(Walker ist der Nachname seines Urgrossvaters)

The abbreviaton "NMN" (no middle name) or "NMI" (no middle initial) is sometimes used in formal documents where a middle initial or name is expected when the person does not have one.
